Baps chino hill temple

Place

United States of America

Standing on Chino Hills, California, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a traditional place of Hindu worship.

After six years of unshakeable dedication and thousands of hours of work, it was unveiled on December 23rd, 2012. Composed of 35,000 pieces painstakingly engraved in Carrara marble and pink sandstone by Italian and Indian craftsmen, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chino Hills, includes five spires, two large domes, four balconies, 122 pillars and 129 arches. From the walls and domes of the pillars to the interior and exterior ceilings, the Mandir is engraved all over with intricate marble and sandstone inlays. The 6,600 hand-cut motifs look like a mosaic of tales inspired by devotion and dedication and by the historical characters of Hinduism.
